Terms of Service
Last updated September 4, 2026
These Terms govern access to Desk Envoy, including the website, waitlist, dashboard, APIs, AI envoys, cloud computers, email inboxes, Slack, and connected apps (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
1. Hobby product, no guarantees
Desk Envoy is a personal hobby / experimental project. It is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, uptime, or data durability.
We do not promise that:
- the Service will be available, timely, secure, or error-free;
- envoy output will be correct, complete, or appropriate;
- a envoy will take the action you intended, or will not take a wrong action in email, Slack, a connected app, or on its computer;
- files on a envoy computer, memory, or messages will be retained, backed up, or recoverable;
- third-party providers listed in the Privacy Policy will remain available or will handle data the way you expect.
We may rate-limit, pause computers, change features, refuse access, or shut the Service down at any time, with or without notice. There is no service-level agreement and no credits or refunds.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into these Terms. Access may require waitlist approval. You are responsible for your account, two-factor settings, connected-app permissions, envoy instructions, and all activity from your workspace. Keep credentials confidential and tell us if you suspect compromise. We may disable accounts that abuse the Service.
3. How the Service works
Each envoy has an isolated identity, memory, inbox on a Desk Envoy email domain (not your own domain), and a cloud computer operated by a third-party sandbox provider. Envoys can browse, create and organize files, and run commands on that cloud machine. They cannot see or write to your personal laptop, phone, or another envoy's computer.
Optional integrations (Gmail, GitHub, Notion, Linear, Slack, and similar) act with the permissions you grant. You can assign those apps to a envoy before you connect them; the envoy cannot use an app until you complete that connection. Routines run once every 24 hours. You are solely responsible for reviewing and authorizing what envoys send, write, merge, delete, or schedule.
4. Your content and license
You retain rights in content you submit ("Customer Data"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display Customer Data only as needed to operate, secure, and debug the Service, including sending it to the processors named in the Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights and consents needed for that processing.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate law, or others' rights, or these Terms.
- Process highly regulated data (including health, payment-card, or government-classified data) or data you are not allowed to share with hobby infrastructure and AI providers.
- Send spam, phishing, malware, or unauthorized bulk mail; impersonate others; or bypass security or usage limits.
- Attack, scrape, or disrupt the Service or its providers.
- Rely on envoy output as professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.
6. Usage limits and your responsibility
The Service is subject to monthly spend caps and other limits. When a cap is reached, envoy computers may pause and new model calls may be refused until the next period or an operator raises the cap. Limits can change.
AI output may be inaccurate, fabricated, or harmful. Connected tools can take real actions in your accounts. You must supervise envoys. You are responsible for the consequences of those actions.
7. Third parties
The Service depends on independent providers, including Vercel, Neon, Upstash, Better Auth, Resend, OpenRouter and the models behind it, E2B, Composio, Slack, DuckDuckGo, and any app you connect. We are not responsible for their outages, policy changes, data practices, or charges. Your use of those services is also governed by their terms.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, branding, and original content remain ours or our licensors'. These Terms do not grant you a license to copy the product, reverse engineer it except as allowed by law, or use our marks without permission.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages, or for lost data, lost work, mistaken emails, mistaken code changes, or mistaken connected-app actions, even if we were advised they were possible.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim — or zero if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow certain limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.
10. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your Customer Data, your envoys' actions, your connected accounts, or your breach of these Terms.
11. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use means you accept the new Terms. We may suspend or end the Service or your access at any time. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your envoys from the dashboard.
12. Contact
